This was a group capstone business plan project. Our business involved creating a mobile app that would gamify project management, transforming the user experience into one that is immersive and efficient to their work timelines. I was in charge of the financial planning, operation and activation of the sequential events that we ran to promote the app. Collaboratively, it was an engaging experience where we placed Top 5 in our graduating year's pitch competition. We look to expand our idea's and frameworks in the future.

I will never forget this experience because it was a project that helped me grow as a individual and create bonds with the best colleagues + best friends I could ask for. It was also the moment I realized that I enjoyed working on projects revolving around design thinking and management. I lead the setup towards the on-site campaign with our "Moment of Truth" treasure game. This involved Pauline and I on engaging with people coming into the expo and leading them to our game board. Our game board represented our apps functions, such as the monsters being the problems and the swords being the user solutions that would defeat the monsters. When people played our game, they would define their problem and we would suggest the sword that could help them defeat that monster, leading the user and their team to...SUCCESS!
Working as a team, we wanted to draw traffic to our booth; we devised on a Snapchat Campaign where we would place a Geo-filter in a-weeks advance to the expo and schedule it during the time of the event. The marketing team designed the filter where Pauline and I worked on getting the arrangements together. On the day of, we ended up with 300+ uses of our filter, which was well over our expectation of 80-100 uses. We also allowed users to take photos with our filter after they approached our booth. With our app providing a gamified service, why not turn it into an engaging event! You can find examples of the filter in use on this section.

What I learned from this event is that you need to fully invest yourself into the campaign. In this case, my team and I invested in hard-work, tears and money to get the results we wanted. We ranked Top 5 out of 32 teams in our fourth year class. Additionally, all of our own experiences and skills worked cohesively together; the event and business planning furthered my horizon on solving complex start-up problems and time management. This was a team effort project, a team I am proud of.
With our our app, we focused on combining the elements of working and playing into one function, thus Quest was born. All of us had issues in the past with using project management apps and staying engaged with the tool; either because the functions were not user friendly for us or we just trailed off from the app. We honed our app to start with a niche audience and ensuring there was a product fit and need for it. Quest was designed as an app that is fun in a Role Playing Game setting, where the user interface would be simple for the everyday user. In this section, you can find some examples of the interface design. Human-Centric designs were are methodology.
